An ablation study typically refers to removing some “feature” of the model or algorithm,
and seeing how that affects performance.
ablation study 는 모델이나 알고리즘의 "feature" 들을 제거하면서 그게 성능에 어떤 영향을 줄지 연구하는 것이다.
예를들어 object detection 분야의 Fast-RCNN에서는 ablation study 를 다음과 같이 실험하고 있었다.
최근 딥러닝 분야의 논문을 작성할 때 필수적으로 넣어야할 부분인듯하다.
